So here it is- Wednesday, February 10th at 2:18pm I will be embarking on the trip I have been waiting my entire life to go on. 28 Days.
I spent this last weekend with a close friend who will be departing this Friday for a semester at sea on a cruise ship full of college students all studying and circumnavigating the world together. Saying our goodbyes was rather difficult because we are both in strange mental states- Mandy in shock and Me in disbelief. I haven't even begun to wrap my head around the reality of my future. Our inability to imagine what our lives will be like in a month has put us in a haze. We had some really great talks about what we're most/least excited about and I am so grateful to have a good friend who will be experiencing similar things somewhere else in the big pond! So this is my shout out and virtual hug to my darling Mandy. I love you girl... Sail the high seas, see the world, and always remember that you are loved and missed.
Here are a few photos from our last weekend in Boone together:

Laura, I love you. I am having difficulty finding the right words to say about our friendship, because I never fathomed I could find another person so in tune with me like you are. We are both in remarkable places in our life--Never again will we have an opportunity to change our future as dramatically as we can now.
I am so excited for you.. for you to feel how I am feeling right now, with only 48 hours to go before I leave for my voyage. I know it hasn't hit you yet--trust me, it is only starting to hit me--but when it does, all your hesitations and worries and roots will lift from the soil and you will feel FREE. You can feel it in your chest and in every breath.
You don't have to worry about a thing, girl. Just let life lead you, and enjoy the ride. And remember, even though we'll be in separate countries, I'll be a hell of a lot closer to you in miles than any other person here in the States.
YOU ARE SO CLOSE. I am so proud of you. I should probably give you my phone number in case you want to call and talk to someone who knows all about freaking out just before moving to a new country. I almost didn't get on the plane! You are about to have the greatest adventure of your life and I am so excited to share a little bit of the beginning with you. Love love love.
